Sensei Rhys holds a 2nd Dan black belt in karate-do. He has been practicing since he was 6 years old, almost 20 years, focusing primarily on the Gōjū-ryū and Shotokan styles of karate blending both into a unique fighting art.
He specialises in self-defense and bunkai, the practical application of kata. His favourite kata is Sepai, meaning 18 hands, this kata demonstrates the use of pulling and grabbing techniques in close quarters combat and has many useful applications for practical self-defense.
