At Yama No Kaze Karate-Do, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all of our students, instructors, and visitors. Bullying of any kind is not tolerated, whether verbal, physical, emotional, or online.
What is Bullying?
Bullying is any repeated, intentional behavior that hurts, harms, or humiliates someone physically, emotionally, or socially. This includes:
- Name-calling or teasing
- Intimidation or threats
- Physical aggression
- Spreading rumors or excluding others
- Cyberbullying through phones or social media
Our Expectations
All students, regardless of age or rank, are expected to:
- Show respect to fellow students, instructors, and parents
- Support one another in training and personal development
- Speak up if they see or experience bullying
- Uphold the values of martial arts: discipline, integrity, and compassion
Parents and guardians are encouraged to talk to their children about respectful behavior and to report any concerns to the head instructor.
How We Respond
If bullying is reported or observed:
- We will listen to all parties involved in a safe and private setting.
- Bullying behavior will be addressed firmly and fairly.
- Consequences may include verbal warnings, temporary suspension, or removal from the dojo, depending on the severity and frequency.
- Support will be offered to those affected by bullying, including mediation if appropriate.
We believe that martial arts is not only about physical skills, but also about building strong character. Everyone deserves to train in an environment where they feel safe and respected.
